Farm Team Field Workers 

We are currently hiring for this position. 

Farm Team Field Workers perform tasks in the areas of: 

Growing: work in the greenhouse, weeding by hand and with tools, transplanting, and trellising. 

Harvesting: harvest vegetables and herbs to the standards set for each crop, and transport to the Packing House. Special care and attention is required to ensure that each crop’s freshness and quality is maintained. 

Post Harvesting: clean, store, and pack vegetables in a timely manner to ensure freshness and the maintenance of quality. Includes picking orders and organizing for deliveries, as well as cleaning and organization of the packing house and tools. 

Other Activities: Farm Team Field Workers perform other tasks that support the general upkeep of the farm, as well as the work of other departments and managers. Tasks include, fence construction and maintenance, landscaping, moving hay and straw, and much, much more. 

The standard schedule for this position is 8:00am to 4:00pm in the spring and fall, and 7:00am to 3:00pm in the summer, Monday through Friday, with additional hours required on an occasional basis depending on weather and work to be done. Base wage is $7.50/hour, with additional consideration for previous experience and skills development on the job. 

Full-season positions are available to start immediately, and goes through November. 

We also have shorter-duration summer positions available for the same position. 

Ideal Farm Team Field Workers possess the following skills and experience: 

        Previous work on a vegetable farm, in food service, in retail produce sales, or in another horticultural enterprise 

        Organizational skills 

        Past leadership roles and responsibilities 

        Comfort with basic computer usage and daily access to email. 

        Ability to work quickly with your hands, with attention to detail.
